How to Cook a Turkey Writing Activity

This is a great activity to do with your students right before Thanksgiving. I love to do this with my students every year. I let them have a discussion on how they think they should cook a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I let the children brainstorm together and then write their papers. After they finish writing their final drafts, we talk about how to REALLY cook a turkey! I love this part! What the kids write is always so far off from the real way to cook a turkey. The kids laugh and I laugh and it's a great learning experience.

Grab this writing activity right now before Thanksgiving for 20% off! Visit my TpT store here.

Good luck and have fun with this! Happy Thanksgiving

Superhero Themed Weekend News

Each week in my class, my 2nd graders write about what they did over the weekend on a Superhero Weekend News. They love that they get to pretend they were a superhero over the weekend and write it from that perspective. This fun and engaging worksheet is perfect for any superhero themed classroom.

I'm keeping my worksheets for each student and we are going to make a book for each student to take home at the end of the year called "My Superhero Weekend News." The kids are really excited about that and they try really hard each week to make sure their weekend news is good enough for a book!

You can download a copy of this by clicking here!

Thanks for reading!

Fall Thankful Tree

This year with my 2nd graders, we had each student make their own Fall Thankful Tree. In the previous years, we have made a huge class tree, where each student could add thankful leaves to it. But, this year we wanted to have something that each child could take home and share with their families.

I created this really easy and fun Fall Thankful Tree for my students to make. Each student choose as many pre-copied leaves as they wanted to fill up their tree with. On each leaf, they had to write down what they were thankful for. The students loved this assignment and I loved that they came up with so many things to be thankful for.

There is still a few days left before Thanksgiving. You can still grab this download from my TpT store right now for 20% off!!  Click here to download!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Rock Star Sing and Dance Birthday Party with FREEBIE

It's hard to believe my oldest just turned 7! She had such a fun birthday party. She helped from start to finish with the theme of this party. She loves all things chevron right now so that was her #1 priority.... that it had chevron! We found the perfect color scheme and black and white chevron worked out perfect! Check out her adorable Rock Star Sing & Dance Birthday Party!

This is her invitation!

Here are pictures from her party! It was a complete success!! The girls (and boys) had tons of fun singing and dancing!

I found this adorable chalk board pennet banner at Target. I LOVE it! I have used it for a few different things now. I love that it is so versitile!

Here is a copy of the cupcake toppers and small signs I made for the dessert table. You can grab them FREE right now! :) You're welcome!

The kids got to make their own microphones. They had a blast decorating them with glitter, jewels, and sequins!

And of course... here is the dancing! The kids LOVED it! It was one of the easiest parties I've ever put on. We just used Just Dance on the XBox and it did all the work for us! The kids were completely entertained!! Perfection!

It was so much fun having my daughter help plan this one. I hope you can get some great ideas to help you with your next party! Come back soon for more great ideas to help you teach, create, and PARTY!!

Maternity Photo Shoot

Every now and then, I get to do something that I normally don't get to do. Like do a photo shoot! (Disclaimer: I'm in no way a professional photographer, nor do I  think I really ever want to be! But...It's fun to play around!!)

My beautiful sister in law asked me to take some maternity photos of her with her family. This is the last baby they are planning on having, and she wanted to capture some of these precious moments while she is still pregnant.

The photos turned out really great. Here are a few of my favorites! Isn't she just glowing?!! I love this family so much!

I know this isn't my typical post, but I just had to share! I think it actually fits into my blog theme pretty well... I CREATED some precious family memories! :)
