Maternity Photo Shoot

Every now and then, I get to do something that I normally don't get to do. Like do a photo shoot! (Disclaimer: I'm in no way a professional photographer, nor do I  think I really ever want to be! But...It's fun to play around!!)

My beautiful sister in law asked me to take some maternity photos of her with her family. This is the last baby they are planning on having, and she wanted to capture some of these precious moments while she is still pregnant.

The photos turned out really great. Here are a few of my favorites! Isn't she just glowing?!! I love this family so much!

I know this isn't my typical post, but I just had to share! I think it actually fits into my blog theme pretty well... I CREATED some precious family memories! :)

Frozen "In Summer" Birthday Party

Do you remember the sneak peak I gave you of the Frozen In Summer themed birthday party I was planning? I shared with you the adorable invitation I made for this party here!

Well, last week was the big day! My friend's adorable little girl turned 4 and her Frozen In Summer party turned out absolutely fabulous.

Here is the gift table. My friend's amazing mom made all families hooded Olaf towels to take home as a party favor! They were so darn cute! The kids LOVED them!

For the food, we had a lot of cute snacks that went along with our Frozen theme! We had powdered sugar donut for snowballs.

We had pretzel sticks for Olaf's arms.

We had carrot sticks for Olaf's Noses.

We had mini sandwiches in honor of Hans and Anna!

I made a cute tissue paper garland in our theme's colors for the bottom of the food table.

We had an amazing Frozen cake made! The very talented lady who made it did an absolutely amazing job!! The kids (and adults!) were in love with it!

For drinks, we had pink lemonade and melted snow (aka... water bottles!)

It was such a cute and fun party! I was able to bring my girls along and they had a blast! After we had lunch and opened presents, we all went swimming! It was a perfect Frozen In Summer party for the perfect little girl!! Love you Claire Bear! Happy Birthday cute girl!

2nd Grade English Language Arts Common Core Standards WE CAN Posters!

This is a packet of all the English Language Arts  Common Core Standards for 2nd grade. They have been written in student friendly “WE CAN” statements. They are typed up to display and refer to frequently in your classroom.

One of my goals this year is to refer more frequently to the standards we are teaching and make sure that my students know why we are learning what we are learning.

Here are two samples of the posters you will receive in the packet.

Superhero Word Wall Alphabet

Here is a great Superhero Themed Word Wall Alphabet that I created for my classroom. Its clear and bold font makes it easy for little eyes to read! I made the vowels appear with a yellow background! Perfect for any Superhero themed classroom!

Here is a preview of the alphabet letters.

Superhero Themed All About Me Pages

I'm changing up my classroom a bit this year. I am going to do a new theme: 2nd Grade Superheroes! I'm really excited. I created a Superhero All About Me Page for my students to complete on the first day of school. I'm going to have the students fill them out, color them, and put them together to make a class book. My students have always LOVED looking through the All About Me book throughout the whole year. Here is what you will get in my download:

All About Me Superhero Girl

 All About Me Superhero Boy

You can download these for your own classroom by clicking here! Thanks for visiting! I hope you are getting great ideas to help you TEACH, CREATE, & PARTY!

Frozen "In Summer" Themed Birthday Party Sneak Peek ~ Invitation

One of my longest and dearest friends from my childhood asked me to help plan her daugher's birthday party. She is turning 4 this year and of course loves all things Frozen. {What little girl doesn't, right!?}

Since her birthday is in the middle of summer, we chose to do a Olaf "In Summer" themed party! I have had SO much fun planning this party. I'm so excited to throw it for this sweet friend and her daughter! Here is a sneak peek preview of the party theme and colors we are doing. This is the birthday invitation I designed for the party. I love how it turned out!

Stay tuned for more from this cute Olaf "In Summer" themed party! It's going to be fantastic! =)
